The Top 20 video games thread

[Doc Xenith]

Inspired by TH's movie thread

What are yor picks for the the top 10 best games ever? Across any system, any type of game. Here are mine, in no particular order. (Note: You won't find any NES or SNES exclusive games here because I never had either of those systems so I can't really speak for the)

-Gunstar Heroes (Genesis)- anime inspired, contra-style action

-Devil May Cry (PS2)- Capcom not only managed to make a new iconic game character, but one of the finest action games ever

-Final Fantasy 7 (PS1)

-Castlvania: Symphony of the Night (PS1)- a sort of reinvention of a classic series.

-Half-Life (PC)

-Alien vs Predator 2 (PC)- Three different perspectives and styles of play with almost perfect game design. Plus it was one of the first great liscensed games.

-Guilty Gear X2 (PS2)- possibly the best 2d fighter ever.

-Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (Genesis)

-Max Payne (PC,PS2,XB)- Introduced "bullet time" to the gaming world.

-Twisted Metal 2 (PS1)- TM: Black was better, but this was the one that put car combat on the map.

-Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos (PC) The war stratgey game for people that don't like war strategy.

-Street Fighter II (various)- need I say more?

-Virtua Fighter II (Saturn, Arcade)- The first 3D fighter where button mashers would get their asses handed to them.

-Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Arcade)

-Tenchu: Stealth Assassins (PS1)- The first "realistic" ninja game

-Resident Evil 2 (PS1)

-Silent Hill(PS1)

-Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (Xbox, PC)

-Deus Ex (PC, PS2)

-Metal Gear: Solid (PS1)

Feel free to discuss, add your own list, bitch about mine. Whatever.
